TIKKUN OLAM
Our Congregation provides its members with many opportunities for social action. By reaching out to people in need, we not only help to repair the world, but also strengthen our Jewish identity and provide an important example of our values for our children.
Ongoing Activities
Food collection for the hungry
Our congregation also collects food weekly and delivers it to both Jewish charity organizations (Hatzilu) as well as the Mary Brennan INN in Hempstead. We also have an annual paper goods drive for Hatzilu.
Children’s Tzedakah
The religious school children donate each week of the school year during the Havdalah service and the children vote on which charity will receive the funds at the end of the year.
